DAY 65 Mar 18 - Sea Day Southern Atlantic Ocean

We both slept in this morning as we headed out of the Atlantic towards the Caribbean Sea. I think the exertions in the midday sun on Devil's Island yesterday had taken it's toll.

In addition I was not asleep until midnight although Maria had fallen asleep a little earlier.

We received two blue duffel bags from HAL last night with approp-riate Grand Voyage inscrip-tions.

It is traditional on Grand Voyages for HAL to give out bags ostensibly for passengers to pack away all the various souvenirs and gifts purchases on the voyage that might not otherwise fit in their baggage.

They are very welcome and will as usual be eventually given away by us as presents to friends or family who might have greater need of them than us.

We intend having a very quiet day doing nothing in particular so the daily blog will be short and sweet today.

Maria has managed a little more packing but there is ample clothes still in the closet to keep us looking fresh and beautiful.

Tonight we have been invited to the last of our Travel Agent's (CSI) cocktail parties in the Crows Nest. Henk and Lucia host these events and they are always fun.

However we will not be attending due to a prior commit-ment.

We have invited some of our travel friends that we have shared tours with over the last period of time to come and have a “Farewell to the Grand Voyage Drink” in our cabin. We have also asked a few of the Ship's Officers along as well as dear Frank Buckingham.

Hopefully we will not run out of anything although we are winding down our supply of drinks.

Good old cabin steward Deden will ensure we have plenty of the approp-riate type of glasses available and tons of ice to keep things cool.

  2. I can't believe your Grand adventure is nearly over. I have so enjoyed reading your blog each day. Thank you for taking the time(and expense) to do this for all of us left on dry land for the winter. These Grand Voyages certainly make the dreary and cold winter days go by quickly. Have a safe trip home. I can't wait for your next trip. Do you have any plans yet?
